Don't forget that this is Rummage Sale weekend!

We have had several calls/complaints about kids on e-bikes. Please see below:
Electric bicycles and scooters offer a fun and efficient way to travel, but they also come with certain risks. On most roadways, bicyclists, including those on e-bikes, scooters, and mopeds, share the same rights and responsibilities as other road users.
It's important to stay informed about regulations, safety tips, and how you can contribute to safer e-bike and e-scooter use.
Electric bikes are not permitted to be driven on sidewalks per Illinois law.
Additionally, the Village of Forsyth has a few reminders for parents, guardians and e-bike and scooter riders to share the road safely:
• Wear a helmet. The best way to protect yourself is to wear a helmet.
• Look both ways before riding through any kind of intersection. Stop and look for turning cars when crossing the street or a driveway. Be careful at crosswalks and intersections.
• Walk your scooter / bike in crowded areas. To avoid collisions with pedestrians, please be mindful of pedestrians and walk scooters/bikes in crowded areas.
• Avoid distractions. Do not use electronic devices, including ear buds, headphones or phones, while operating your scooter / bike.
• Ride solo. Only one person per scooter / bike.
• Be respectful of others. Sound the bell attached to your scooter / bike, announce yourself, or dismount and walk when passing a pedestrian.
Additional information about bicycle and e-bike safety can be found in: https://www.ilsos.gov/publications/pdf_publications/dsd_a143.pdf

Please join the Village of Forsyth staff in celebrating our fantastic Village Administrator, Jill Applebee! We're so thankful for her vision and the enthusiasm that she brings each and every day. She's constantly striving to make our community even better, and her hard work doesn't go unnoticed. Happy Jill Day!

There are very few things that we like more at the Village than a Ribbon Cutting. Welcome to the neighborhood Dollar General!

On April 1, Forsyth residents will also have the opportunity to vote for mayor. Current Mayor Jim Peck is running unopposed.

On April 1, Forsyth residents will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for three of the following Village Trustee candidates. To learn more about each candidate, we've asked them to share a bit about themselves and their vision for the future of Forsyth.
The Village of Forsyth will also be hosting a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, March 25 at 6 PM in the Forsyth Public Library Community Room. We invite you to come hear directly from the candidates. If you have a question that you would like to be asked of all candidates during the Forum, please submit it to Jill at japplebee@forsyth-il.gov prior to the event.
