🐾 Introducing Forsyth Barks n Rec Dog Park! 🐾
Where Dogs Come to Play
We’re excited to share the name of Forsyth’s future dog park: Forsyth Barks n Rec Dog Park! This new space will provide a fun and safe place for residents and their four-legged friends to run, play, and socialize.
*LOCATION WILL BE APPROXIMATELY WHERE LOGO IS ON THE MAP.-Just west of the Public Works building.
Planned features include:
🐕 Large Dog Park – approximately 17,500 sq. ft. of open space for dogs to run and play
🐾 Small Dog Area – a 2,500 sq. ft. designed specifically for smaller dogs
🛝 Dog playground equipment including agility features such as ramps, tunnels, and obstacles
🪑 Seating areas for owners to relax while their dogs enjoy the park
🚰 Water station for dogs
🗑 Waste stations to help keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone
🌳 Open space designed for dogs to safely exercise and socialize
The park will proudly carry the tagline:
“Where Dogs Come to Play.”
We know there will likely be questions about the timeline for construction. At this point, we won’t have a clear timeframe until bids are received for the parking lot. Once that process is complete, scheduling will depend on coordination with the selected contractor, the fence installation, and delivery timelines for items such as the shade structure and drinking fountains. Because of these variables, the exact construction schedule is still to be determined.
We appreciate the community’s excitement for this project and will continue to share updates as plans move forward.
Stay tuned for more information about Forsyth Barks n Rec Dog Park! 🐶

💧 Water Tower Renovations Update 💧
We’re excited to share a preview of what Forsyth’s renovated water towers will look like!
Beginning in March, work will start on:
• The Ground Storage Tank
• The North Water Tower
Once the North Tower is complete, construction will begin on the South Water Tower (near the Mall). The South Tower is expected to be completed by May (weather dependent).
These improvements are part of our continued investment in reliable infrastructure and long-term water system maintenance. We appreciate everyone’s patience during construction and look forward to seeing the refreshed towers this spring!
As always, we’ll continue to provide updates along the way. 💙

Village Hall will be closed on February 16.

I wanted to share an exciting community engagement opportunity we are exploring as part of Forsyth Fest — the installation of a community-created mural through the Mural Mosaic America 250th program.
This is a little different than a traditional mural. Instead of one artist painting a wall, this project is created by our residents themselves.
How the Mural Mosaic Process Works:
• A large mural image is selected.
• That image is broken into hundreds of small individual panels (tiles).
• Community members sign up to participate and are each given a tile to paint.
• Each participant paints their tile following simple color-by-number style instructions provided by the program. No artistic experience is needed.
• Once all tiles are completed, they are collected and assembled into the full mural image.
• The finished mural is installed as a permanent public art piece in the Village.
What makes this especially meaningful is that the mural is not just something the community looks at — it is something the community creates together.
Our next step is determining which mural design best fits our community - and we need your help! Please visit the link below to vote for the image that you believe best fits Forsyth.

Village Offices Closed for Thanksgiving
Village Hall, Public Works, and the Forsyth Library will all be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday November 28 in observance of Thanksgiving.
Our Public Works team has been working overtime and even weekends to keep leaf pickup moving along. With the holiday, they will not be working over the long weekend.
We are currently down one leaf truck, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience as the crew continues to do their best to reach every neighborhood as quickly and safely as possible.
We hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁

Update on the Feed the Need Food Pantry:
Thanks to generous community support, the Feed the Need Food Pantry at Forsyth Public Library continues to grow! On a daily basis, folks are stopping by to pick up additional food and toiletry items to help meet their needs and we wouldn't be able to do this without your help. Each day, local residents are dropping off new items to add to the shelves or bringing in cash or check donations. This latest shelf restock was purchased with the donations from many of FPL's Chair Yoga attendees and we're so thankful for their support.
Feed the Need is designed to be a "Take What You Need, Leave What You Can" resource. Please spread the word to any of our local families who could benefit! The Feed the Need shelf is located in the interior hallway of Forsyth Public Library and is available during normal library hours: Mon, Tues and Thurs 9 AM - 7 PM, Wed and Fri 9 AM - 5 PM and Sat 9 AM - 1 PM.
If you have the means to contribute, we'd be happy to accept your food contributions or cash donations. Please inquire at the library circulation desk and we'd be happy to answer any questions you have.

You may have noticed something new in the park! 🌳✨
Our Public Works team came up with a wonderful idea — instead of removing dead trees all the way to the ground, we’re turning them into beautiful wood sculptures. It’s a great way to add character to our parks while honoring the natural landscape.
And don’t worry — whenever a tree is removed, a new one is planted.
Isn’t this one stunning? You can find it in Forsyth Park down by the bridge. 💚
