On August 4, 1892, Andrew Borden and his wife, Abby, were murdered with a hatchet in their Fall River, Massachusetts home. Andrew’s daughter, Lizzie Borden, was charged with their murders, but was later acquitted of the crime. The murders remain unsolved to this day and they serve as, not only a mystery of a heinous double murder - they’re representative of media in the Gilded Age, as well as the class and gender stereotypes of that time.
Chicago actor and story-teller, Ed Dzialo, shares the details of the murders, while painting a fascinating picture of Lizzie, both before and after the gruesome murders through photos, memorabilia, and a peek at life in the city that Lizzie Borden called home.

Thanks to the generous support of the Village of Forsyth, FPL is getting an exterior remodel, designed to repair current issues and protect the building for continued use in the future. Over the new few months, be prepared to see lots of construction on all sides of the building. While the project shouldn't hinder your normal library visit, we do ask that you use caution in the parking lots and on the sidewalks to ensure your safety. The construction project may impact the availability of parking at times. If so, please use the Methodist Church parking lot across the street.
Teen Movie Night at the Library

On September 27, 2005 the popular book series about teen love and angst among humans, vampires and werewolves began with the release of Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the book, FPL is showing Twilight, the movie, for ages 13 and up in our Program Room.
We’ll have popcorn and badges to show everyone which team you’re rooting for - Team Edward or Team Jacob.

Add a little fall decor to your home and save your furniture at the same time! Make a decoupage drink coaster from a tile and napkins or design the tile yourself using Sharpies and Mod Podge to seal it. Get creative and decorate the tile any way you choose.

Do you enjoy reading books that have been adapted to television shows or movies? If so, join our new tweens book club, From Pages to Popcorn!
Every six weeks we’ll read a different book. We then meet to discuss the book, watch a bit of the television or movie adaptation, and talk about the differences, similarities, favorites and not-so-favorites.
Our first book is The Bad Beginning, Book 1 in the Lemony Snickett books, A Series of Unfortunate Events and the Netflix program of the same name.

A tangram is a Chinese dissection puzzle made from seven flat geometric shapes called "tans" cut from a single square. The puzzle's goal is to rearrange these seven pieces to form a specific outline without overlapping or leaving gaps. Come into the library to color and cut out our tangram, then put it together to form Miss Vanessa’s pattern of choice.
