As we wrap up a year of work supported by a grant from the Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board (ISHRAB), we want to take a moment to express our sincere thanks for their support.
This grant made it possible to process and preserve five local historical collections, expanding access to the community’s heritage. The collections completed through this project include:
📂 Forsyth Grade School Collection
📂 Rural Schools Collection
📂 Hickory Point Historical Society Collection
📂 Forsyth Board of Trustees Minutes 1958-current
📂 Forsyth Public Library Commission/Committee Minutes
Each of these collections now has a finding aid, archival preservation housing, and increased discoverability for researchers and future generations. Photos from these collections are also available online at: https://forsyth.omeka.net/collections/browse
We are proud of the work accomplished over the past year and deeply grateful to ISHRAB for investing in local history preservation.
