Danny GO! Dance Party Thursday, July 10 - 10:00 a.m. All Ages Welcome All you Danny GO! fans, grab your family and friends and join us at the library for a rockin’ Dance Party! We’ll be jammin’ in the semi-dark with Glow Sticks and lots of your favorite Danny GO! videos. Come kiddy clubbing at FPL and have a great time!

Stuffy Repair Drop-in Clinic Monday, July 7 - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All Stuffies Welcome! Littles, do you have a well-loved stuffy who needs a little tender loving care? Bring them to FPL for our Stuffy Repair Clinic. Library staff will do their best to patch them up, sending your furry friends home feeling a whole lot better.

Macon Co. Conservation Real-life Pokemon Tuesday, July 8 - 2:00 p.m. All Ages Welcome Hey, Pokemon Trainers! Do you feel a lot of your catches look familiar? Discover the real-life animal equivalent of some of your favorite Pokémon, like Caterpie, Sandshrew, Toucannon and others at this fun, educational program! All ages are welcome to attend. If you Pokemon GO!, be sure to check outside around the library because you know you Gotta Catch 'Em All!

Community Watch 1st Tuesday of Each Month This Month - July 1 at 4:00 p.m. Join us this evening at the Community Watch Meeting located in the Community Room of the library building.

There are no Summer Reading programs this week, but we're still here for you to sign up if you haven't. Also, bring in your reading logs and get those prizes! Enjoy your week/weekend and be safe.

#4 of our 2025 Summer Reading Foodie Friday treats today is a staff favorite - Gummy Candies! They're sweet, smooshy, colorful bits of goodness! As always, the samples will be available while supplies last.

SPECIAL True Crime Event Tuesday, July 15 - 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. - Ages 18+ Registration Required Our True Crime Club takes place the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 and is open to adults 18 and up. For July, we’ll be meeting on Tuesday, July 15. Don’t miss our special July True Crime event as we have a guest presenter. Sophie Howe, Forensic Chemistry Senior at Western Illinois University, will be here to discuss several evidence testing techniques and to answer questions you may have. Registration is required for this event. Window Painting Drop-in OUTDOORS! Wednesday Mornings June 11 & 25 - July 9 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Every other Wednesday through July 9, our custom-made Window Painting panels will be outside in front of the library for anyone to enjoy. We’ll have lots of bright paint colors and brushes to create cool art with. Want to try something else? Grab a spray bottle of water and a squeegee, clean off the window and start over again.

Children's Museum of Illinois Tuesday, June 24 - 2:00 p.m. No Registration Required The Children’s Museum of Illinois is here today for some dino-mite fun! Enjoy being a mini paleontologist with the Museum’s Dino Bones, plus create your own fossil painting to take home. Dino Stomp On In and See Us!

Story Time ... Back at the Library! Friday, June 27 - 10:00 a.m. In The Program Room It's always good to try something new. Until it isn't. Story Time is back at the library for the remainder of the summer. Drop in on Friday mornings and enjoy some fun stories and an edible craft with Miss Michelle. Come in where it's cool and chill out with us!

As we wrap up a year of work supported by a grant from the Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board (ISHRAB), we want to take a moment to express our sincere thanks for their support. This grant made it possible to process and preserve five local historical collections, expanding access to the community’s heritage. The collections completed through this project include: 📂 Forsyth Grade School Collection 📂 Rural Schools Collection 📂 Hickory Point Historical Society Collection 📂 Forsyth Board of Trustees Minutes 1958-current 📂 Forsyth Public Library Commission/Committee Minutes Each of these collections now has a finding aid, archival preservation housing, and increased discoverability for researchers and future generations. Photos from these collections are also available online at: https://forsyth.omeka.net/collections/browse We are proud of the work accomplished over the past year and deeply grateful to ISHRAB for investing in local history preservation.

Switch Mario Party Drop-in Monday, June 23 - 10:00 a.m. All Ages Welcome Today is Party Time at the library... Mario Party Time! We’re setting up the Switch again for some more gaming fun. Everyone wishing to play will take turns so everyone gets a chance. Join us to get down with Mario, Princess Peach and all your other favorite characters!
