Contact Village if interested in serving in either position

The Village of Forsyth is looking for interested residents to volunteer and serve on the Village’s Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as represent the Village on the Board of Directors of the Decatur Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall. The Planning and Zoning Commission plays a crucial role in shaping future land use and development in the Village by recommending to the Village Board the zoning, subdividing and rezoning of parcels within the Village, considering special use and variance applications, reviewing development plans and other similar duties. Knowledge of or previous experience in the fields of construction, engineering, real estate, local government or similar disciplines would be useful in this role, but not required.

The Decatur Area Convention & Visitors Bureau meets the second Thursday at noon at the Decatur Civic Center every other month except for the month of July. The purpose of the bureau is to promote tourism, increase awareness of local attractions, as well as increase daily visitors to the area.

If you are interested in serving in either position, please submit your name, address, daytime telephone number, email address and why you are interested in serving to: Community and Economic Development Coordinator Nik Duffle, nduffle@forsythvillage.us, or in person at Village Hall no later than Friday, July 19, 2019.
