Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • At the June 17 Board meeting, trustees approved an amendment to the TIF District agreement between the Village and Aggressive Developments of Missouri, LLC and Karma Real Estate, LLC. The amendment will allow the developers to be reimbursed for TIF eligible costs related to building McAlister’s Deli.
  • Community and Economic Development Coordinator Nik Duffle’s June 17 report to trustees noted that Lamar Advertising, 110 Weaver Road, recently purchased Mid America Advertising in Springfield. The company will likely sell its Forsyth location and merge staff and operations into one location in Springfield later this year. Lamar Advertising is a leader in billboard and digital display advertising.
  • Duffle also reported in his June 17 report that he has contacted property owners located along the Route 51 corridor about maintaining their grass. Duffle said all agreed to have their grass cut within the next mowing cycle.
  • The Public Works Department has been busy with summer duties, including installing a flag pole at diamond No. 5, repairing a sprinkler at diamond No. 4 and applying fertilizer to Forsyth Park and areas around Village buildings. In addition, Public Works staff helped with Family Fest by cooking for the picnic and by tidying up the park and parade route for residents and visitors.
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, July 1, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
